Empirical's one-time panel is a smaller upfront purchase, not a year of twice-yearly testing. Function and Superpower are closer comparisons because both include two draws. The exact tests and care services still differ.
What does the Superpower membership include?
The official offer includes two blood draws, a results dashboard, personalized recommendations and care-team access. Superpower advertises 150+ lab tests annually across the baseline and retest. That annual total includes repeats; it should not be read as 150 different biomarkers at each visit.
The full Superpower review covers its app and panel. The Function vs Superpower comparison shows which markers overlap and which differ.
Which Superpower fees are extra?
- At-home collection: Superpower states that home draws have an additional fee. Confirm the price for your location.
- Add-on tests and services: Buying a membership does not include everything in the marketplace.
- New York and New Jersey: The official pricing notes say prices may vary in these states.
Use the final checkout amount for your selected plan and collection method. A membership price alone is not an all-in quote for every location or optional service.
Does Superpower renew at the same price?
Superpower is an annual membership. Its current advertised rate is $349, but check the renewal terms shown at checkout rather than treating today's rate as a permanent price guarantee. The site says cancellation leaves access active through the paid year.
For budgeting, two years at an unchanged $349 rate would total $698, before extras. That is an illustration, not a locked-in two-year offer.
What happened to the $199 and $299 prices?
The $199 membership was an earlier offer. We also documented $299 Labor Day promotions. Neither is the current standard price advertised on Superpower's homepage. An old review or coupon listing may describe a different offer or testing schedule.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Superpower labels its membership HSA/FSA eligible. Confirm eligibility with your plan administrator and keep the receipt. This changes how you pay; it does not reduce the sticker price.
Is it worth paying for a membership?
If you want repeat testing and an app that keeps the results together, read whether Superpower is worth it. If you already know which few tests you want, use the individual test cost guides before committing to a broad membership.
