Superpower: breakdown, review, and alternatives

Superpower offers fairly affordable comprehensive blood testing at $199 per year for their basic membership, which includes 60+ biomarkers tested once annually. For those wanting advanced cardiovascular metrics, the Advanced Panel ($388 total) adds 25+ additional heart health biomarkers.

Superpower's testing is particularly strong in hormone panels, metabolic health, and basic comprehensive health screening. The Advanced Panel upgrade brings gold-standard cardiovascular markers like Lp(a) and particle size measurements. The basic plan already includes ApoB.

Here's what I think Superpower does well: the web app is very polished and attractive, and the price point is the lowest in the market for this level of comprehensive testing. At $199, it's significantly cheaper than Function Health ($499) or InsideTracker ($499).

Where I think Superpower could improve: they only test once per year (Function does twice), and they don't have mobile apps yet. If you want to track your biomarkers over time with multiple tests per year, you'd need to pay for additional tests.

Best for: Budget-conscious individuals who want solid comprehensive testing, or those focused on cardiovascular optimization who want advanced lipid metrics without Function Health's premium price.

Superpower platform features

Testing Schedule

Superpower includes one lab visit per year with their basic membership. The test includes about 60+ biomarkers covering heart health, liver, kidney, thyroid, hormones, metabolic health, and inflammation markers.

Superpower's Web App

Superpower's web app is very polished and attractive. The interface makes it easy to view your results and understand what they mean. Mobile apps aren't currently available but are reportedly coming soon.

Advanced Panel Option

For an additional $189, you can add the Advanced Panel which includes comprehensive cardiovascular biomarkers like Lp(a), LDL particle number, LDL particle size, and more ratios. This is ideal for those focused on heart health and longevity optimization without paying for 100+ biomarkers they may not need.

No insurance

Like most direct-to-consumer blood testing services, Superpower operates outside the insurance system. The pricing is transparent and straightforward, but you won't be able to use your health insurance benefits.
