Parsley Health: founders, membership, and cost
Parsley Health is a functional-medicine membership, not a lab panel. Its Complete Care membership runs about $150 to $275 a month depending on whether Parsley is in-network with your insurance, and includes clinician visits, health coaching, and lab testing ordered by your care team. Because it is a care relationship rather than a one-time panel, it costs far more than a standalone testing service.
Who founded Parsley Health?
Parsley Health was founded in 2016 by Dr. Robin Berzin, a Columbia-trained physician (founder page). The company has raised over $100M from investors including FirstMark Capital and White Star Capital, per third-party funding trackers.
What's included, and how testing works1
Unlike a fixed lab panel, Parsley's membership does not bundle a set list of biomarkers. Testing is ordered by your clinician based on your history and goals, and lab costs are billed separately, through insurance or out of pocket, rather than included in the membership fee.
Parsley separately sells an optional Advanced Lab Panel (also branded Longevity Labs) that it markets as 80+ biomarkers across 13 functional panels (what we test):
- Heart Health
- Metabolic Health
- Hormone Balance
- Thyroid Health
- Stress & Adrenal
- Inflammation Index
- Autoimmune
- Complete Blood Count
- Liver Function
- Kidney Function
- Electrolytes
- Nutrient Reserve
- Environmental Toxins
What Parsley says sets it apart
Parsley describes a whole-body, root-cause functional-medicine approach, pairing board-certified clinicians with functional-nutrition coaches. It markets itself as accepting insurance and says nearly 9 in 10 members report symptom improvement within their first year. These are Parsley's own claims, not our assessment.
